Strunk  ·  revise your Google Docs from your AI tool, comments intact

For Academia

Stop copying co-author comments into your AI tool.

Strunk brings each Google Docs comment on your paper or grant proposal back to the AI tool where your code, data and references already live. Once you approve the revisions, Strunk writes them onto the exact text the comments marked, with each thread intact.

Grant proposal: Specific aims

>Pull comments.
Maria is right: Table 2 reports d = 0.42, the aims say 0.45.
How should I fix it?
  1. Use 0.42 from the analysis
  2. Rerun the analysis first
  3. Reply to Maria and leave it
Reply with 1, 2, or 3.

The round trip

Every comment answered from where your work lives.

Your co-authors get a normal Google Doc. You get each comment back in the AI tool that already has your analysis open.

01Publish

Publish the draft

Ana sends the grant proposal from her AI tool to a Google Doc her co-authors can comment on.

02Pull

Bring back co-author comments

Maria's comment returns to the AI tool with the exact text she highlighted, next to the analysis it questions.

03Decide

Decide how to answer

Ana checks the number against the results and chooses the fix.

04Update

Update the Google Doc

Strunk writes the approved fix onto the marked text, replies to Maria, and keeps her comment thread intact.

What it is for

For drafts that several people review before a deadline.

Strunk suits the writing that collects the most comments: drafts your co-authors and collaborators review in Google Docs before anything goes out.

Co-authored papers

Several co-authors comment on the same draft. Each comment comes back to your AI tool with the passage it marked, so you can work through all of them in one sitting.

Grant proposals

Collaborators mark up the aims, methods and budget justification against a deadline. Answer each comment with the call text and your notes open beside it.

Comments that question a number

When a co-author asks whether a figure matches the results, your AI tool can check it against the analysis it already has open instead of guessing.

Group reports and protocols

Anything your group reviews in Google Docs works the same way: the reviewers comment as usual, and the revisions land on the text they marked.

Supported AI tools

Use the AI tool you already work in.

Strunk connects as a remote MCP server with OAuth sign-in, so it works in each of these, and in other tools that support both.

Your approval first

Nothing reaches the doc without your approval.

Your AI tool drafts revisions when you ask, and Strunk applies them only after you approve them, one at a time or as a batch. Strunk can reply in each comment thread to say what changed, and Google Docs keeps the version history, so your co-authors can see what changed and why.

Maria's comment

Does this effect size match Table 2?

Your reply, after you approved the fix

Good catch. Corrected to d = 0.42 to match Table 2.

Unpublished work

Your results stay in your doc.

Strunk is a bridge between your AI tool and Google Docs. It keeps none of the writing that crosses it, only the small record it needs to find your doc again.

Only docs you choose

Strunk can work with docs it creates, or docs you explicitly open with it. It cannot browse the rest of your Google Drive.

No stored document content

Strunk does not store document bodies, titles, URLs, or reviewer comments. Unpublished results stay in your Google Doc.

Never used for training

Strunk does not use your documents to train models.

No access to your AI tool workspace

Strunk only answers the tool calls your AI tool sends to it. It does not fetch your chats, files, or data.

FAQ

Questions researchers ask first.

Does Strunk write the paper for me?

No. Strunk moves your draft into Google Docs and brings the comments back. You decide how to answer them, and nothing in the doc changes until you approve the revisions in your AI tool.

Do my co-authors need Strunk?

No. They comment in the Google Doc you share with them, the way they already do.

Does it work with LaTeX, Overleaf or Word?

Not yet. Strunk publishes to and revises Google Docs. If your group drafts in Overleaf or Word, Strunk cannot reach those files today.

Does it work for papers that are not in English?

Publishing, comments and revisions work in any language. The optional writing rules check English only, so turn them off for other languages.

Is there academic pricing?

Not at the moment. Every account starts with 3 free documents, with unlimited revisions on each, and the paid plans are the same for everyone.
