Use Strunk in OpenWork
Last updated: October 25, 2026
OpenWork can run Strunk like any other app in its Library. Once it is added, you ask OpenWork to publish a draft to Google Docs, read the comments your reviewers leave, and revise the doc in place. Strunk signs in with OAuth, so there is no key to copy and no client ID to enter.
You need a Strunk account and the Google account you want your docs to live in. Everything else happens inside OpenWork.
Add Strunk to your workspace
This works in the OpenWork desktop app with no OpenWork Cloud account, and only you can use the connection.
https://strunk.io/mcp
- Open Settings › Library, expand Advanced settings, and click Add workspace MCP.
- Enter
Strunkas the App name and paste the URL above as the Server URL. - Expand OAuth on this device. Leave the client ID and client secret empty, then click Add App.
- Your browser opens the Strunk sign-in. Approve access and it sends you back to OpenWork.
OpenWork adds Strunk to the workspace you have open. Repeat these steps in any other workspace where you want it.
Add Strunk for your team
An OpenWork Cloud owner or admin can add Strunk once so that each member finds it in their Library.
- In OpenWork Cloud, open Manage › Connectors and click Add connector.
- Click Add any MCP and paste
https://strunk.io/mcp. OpenWork checks the server and signs you in. - Under How people sign in, choose Each person signs in.
- Under Who can use it, pick the people or teams, then click Add Strunk.
Keep Each person signs in. Strunk writes to Google Docs as whoever signed in, and its replies to reviewers carry that person's name. With one shared account, every member's docs would land in the same Google Drive and every reply would come from the same name.
Your first doc
- Ask OpenWork to publish a draft: "Publish this draft to Google Docs with Strunk."
- The first time, Strunk asks you to connect Google. It uses Google's
drive.filepermission, which covers only the docs Strunk creates and the files you pick for it. - Share the doc link with your reviewers. When they have commented, ask OpenWork: "Pull the comments on my doc and work through them."
To work on a doc that already exists, ask OpenWork to open it with Strunk. A Google file picker opens, and you choose the doc there.
If something goes wrong
- Safari shows "Google Picker did not load". Safari's Prevent cross-site tracking setting blocks the picker. Untick it under Safari › Settings › Privacy and click Try again, or open the link in Chrome.
- Strunk is missing from a new workspace. A workspace MCP belongs to one workspace. Add it there too, or ask an admin to add it for the team.
